DMCC is looking for a qualified candidate to be our new Program Director. Job responsibilities include program development, implementation and evaluation; personnel management and supervision; collaboration and assistance to committees and the Board of Directors; maintaining an up-to-date donor and volunteer database and mailing lists; overseeing website and newsletter content; and managing the housing and other DMCC programs.  The Program Director works closely with committees and the Board of Directors to ensure that DMCC continues to serve and support the senior citizens of Del Mar in a warm and welcoming environment.  In addition the DMCC Program Director is a liaison with other non-profit organizations within our community and the staff of the City of Del Mar.

The qualified candidate will have demonstrated leadership and management capabilities to facilitate and evaluate a broad range of programs and to ensure that DMCC office operations run smoothly.  The qualified candidate will also have strong communication skills to foster collaborative relationships with all clients, partners, volunteers and donors supporting DMCC.   These qualifications include:

  •  A minimum of a bachelor's degree and preferably a master's degree
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Prior experience supervising and managing personnel
  • Demonstrated leadership including managing an office and developing and evaluating programs and events, preferably for the senior population
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office and donor management software such as Gift Works, familiarity using social media and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Experience managing web content and an organizational website
  • Familiarity with federal, state and local rules governing non-profits

This is a full-time salaried position offering a medical supplement, paid vacation and holidays. Salary is commensurate with experience.

9am -1pm
Reservations and program registration is required

Del Mar Community Connections offers a weekly grocery shuttle to help Del Mar Community members get the groceries they need. Pick up is at 9am and we'll be going to Trader Joe's, Ralph's, and Sprout's. We assist riders shopping, loading and unloading their purchases. Call DMCC 24 hours in advance to arrange pickup; rider registration required. 


DMCC Ride Buddies Program

Having a medical procedure that won't allow you to drive home? Need help taking your pet to the vet? Are you in a cast or wheelchair and can't operate a vehicle? Do you no longer drive? Del Mar Community Connections offers services to seniors and other City of Del Mar residents who have limited mobility.

Rides Buddies utilizes DMCC volunteers, using their own cars, to drive City of Del Mar residents to medical appointments, recreational and social activities, and spiritual outings. There is no fee, but riders are expected to cover any transportation expenses such as parking or toll fees. Rides depend upon availability of drivers.
