Del Mar Rental Assistance Program

The City of Del Mar offers a Rental Assistance Program for low-income households, as well as low-income elderly and/or disabled individuals.  Del Mar Community Connections administers the Del Mar Rental Assistance Program on behalf of the City. The Program will cover a portion of the rent, paid on behalf of the families directly to their landlords.

There is no emergency rental assistance available.

Please note: New applications are not currently being accepted for the

Del Mar Rental Assistance Waitlist.

How it works ?

The rental assistance payment is determined by the family’s income and the level of allowable assistance for the type of unit for which the family is eligible.  The unit must also be inspected and approved for assistance, and the landlord must be willing to enter into a contract with the City of Del Mar.

Who Qualifies?

In order to qualify for the program, you must meet income limit requirements established by San Diego County, and you must place your name on our waiting list. The wait may be 5-8 years, or more depending on our funding levels.  Your ranking on the wait list can change depending on the applications received and ranking criteria established by the City of Del Mar. Top priority will be given to very low income families who live or work within the city limits of Del Mar.
