Activities

An active and independent lifestyle requires social interaction and personal enrichment. DMCC offers a multitude of such activities to choose from each week; most activities are free or low cost, and all are designed for the active senior residents of Del Mar.

Computer Tutoring

Seniors who are learning to use the computer and those wanting to brush up on their skills may bring their iPads, iPhones and laptops as both Mac and PC help are available. Available weekly by appointment only.

Healthy Aging Forum with Dr. Kalina

Join Dr. Mark Kalina to discuss topics pertinent to senior health, with a new topic each month. Meets at the Del Mar Community Building monthly, on the third Wednesday, from 9:00AM to 10:00 AM.

Lo-Tiders

A co-ed walking group meets at irregular times on the Del Mar beach to share exercise and good times.

Every Wednesday, Bridge and Mah Jongg enthusiasts gather at the the Del Mar Community Building.

Memoir with Mai-Lon

Participants write about life experiences and family history, then share with other writers and learn about self-publishing. This class meets weekly over the course of 12 weeks at a time, and requires registration.

DMCC Explorers

DMCC arranges docent-led group tours to local landmarks such as museums, theaters, parks, and other special areas of interest. Outings are monthly, and end in a no-host lunch. Wheelchair accessible transportation available.

Movie Van

By popular demand, the Movie Van is back! Take in a matinee at AMC La Jolla with friends, and DMCC's van will provide pickup at your home. Movie selection will be determined when the schedule is released by the theater.

Page Turners Book Talk Group

DMCC Page Turners and Del Mar Library Book Talk group have joined forces. Join us monthly to talk and share with others about great books and hidden gems you have read.

ROMEO Mens Luncheon

Lunch with friends and neighbors who are also Retired Older Men Eating Out, and enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean. Reservations are required; only $15, including a nice meal from Sbicca and a beverage. Meets monthly on Tuesdays.

Market watchers share their observations, strategies, and adjustments with one another at the Del Mar Community Building. Meets semi-monthly on Thursday mornings.

Singing Together

Singing - like laughter, sunshine, and exercise - helps maintain our well-being and happiness. Come and get happy with us! Newcomers always welcome. Song sheets and piano accompaniment provided. Free transportation is provided to this program for those enrolled in transportation services.

Gather with enlightened friends to listen to a prominent Del Martian share their personal expertise on an engaging topic in a Del Mar home.

TLC - Tuesday Lunch Connection

Our more mature friends and neighbors enjoy one another's fellowship, entertainment, and a nice meal from a Del Mar restaurant at the Del Mar Community Building. Reservations are required, and DMCC provides transportation to this event. Meets semi-monthly on Tuesdays.

UCSD Healthy Aging Lectures

UCSD hosts an incredibly informative lecture series on senior health monthly at the Garren Auditorium. Participants forgo driving at night and parking on campus and let DMCC do the work.
